What makes a good application?

A good application consists of a cover letter, résumé, and up-to-date certificates.  More importantly it should give us an overall picture of your expertise and your personality. We have compiled more information on this subject in our application tips section.

How long does the application process take?

Once you have gotten in touch with us, we usually need between four to six weeks to decide if you will be joining our team.

I have a start date in mind - how far in advance should I apply?

As early as possible so that we can review your application and begin shortlisting candidates.

Students

Does Uhde offer internships?

Yes, we do. You can find more information about them in our internships section.

What criteria do I need to meet to be eligible?

As a rule, you need to have obtained good grades in your school graduation certificate and in your studies so far. On top of that, we also expect a high degree of commitment and motivation.

How long does an internship last?

A number of factors impact the length of an internship. As a rule though you should expect to spend at least 6 weeks with us to gain a really good insight into how we actually work.

Does Uhde offer support for with final thesis? If so, which conditions do I need to meet?

If you are preparing your thesis or final year project, and are focusing on technology or research and development in particular, we can provide useful help and support and the opportunity for active participation within Uhde. Ideally, you should have studied quickly and received good grades, and you should have majored in a subject which is relevant to one of our divisions.  For more information, please visit our web pages for university students.

Graduates

What criteria do I need to meet to start my career at Uhde?

We value people who are well rounded individuals. If you can also prove yourself as far as your performance, motivation, and commitment are concerned, then you’ve managed to meet the most important requirements. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate expertise in the discipline  required by the advertised position. And of course, the impression you make on us as person counts too.

Are there set start dates?

At Uhde individuals are usually hired as the need arises. As a result, there are no set start dates which also means there are no fixed application deadlines.

What languages does Uhde prefer its potential employees to have?

You should be fluent in both spoken and written English. As an Uhde employee you won’t just come into contact with english-speaking people or customers, you will also be deployed overseas where you will need to have a good command of English so that you can conduct business competently and confidently. It’s also an advantage to speak other languages as Uhde’s business activities span the whole world.

Does Uhde run a trainee programme?

Yes, Uhde runs a trainee programme in conjunction with ThyssenKrupp.

What does the Uhde trainee programme offer?

The trainee programme lasts between 12 and 15 months and takes in at least 3 different areas within the company. This also includes a visit to one of our overseas sites or subsidiaries.

What opportunites does Uhde offer experienced specialists such as myself?

Whether you’d  like to work as a leader with an academic background, as an engineer filling one of the many positions in our technology group, or as a specialist with a technical or business background, you can expect your job to be interesting, to have colleagues who work as a team, to be offered a number of options for your continued training, and to be guaranteed the backing of an internationally successful company.  We generally prefer to recruit our leaders from among our own ranks so that we can offer our employees lots of scope for development . Do I need industry experience?

Industry experience is of course nice to have, but it’s not an imperative. It’s far more important that your overall profile matches our needs.
